As I’m currently on holidays, my days have been filled with knitting, sewing and watching too much television.
Sewing is something I love to do and will never get tired of. I find great satisfaction in making my own clothes, and I get a sense of self sufficiency. If all the clothing stores in the world disappeared, I would still be able to have new clothes.
I recently visited a Spotlight store and was happy to discover their new year sales had begun. I came away with four patterns, purchased at half price and another 2 metres of fabric.
The first project I commenced was this skirt. The fabric was given to me, so all I bought were the four wooden buttons. The pattern I used was: Simplicity 2211.
I am quite pleased with how it turned out, as it was my first time sewing inverted pleats. They were so simple that I think I shall do some more!
